PA Attorney General Files Lawsuit Against Robotics Company

Harrisburg, PA -Attorney General Michelle Henry’s office has filed a lawsuit against Digital Dream Labs. The robotics and educational-technology company is accused of failing to fulfill orders, issue refunds, or respond to consumer requests.

Since November 2020, the company marketed several in-home companion robots: Vector 2.0, Cozmo 2.0, and the Butter Robot. According to the lawsuit, approximately 14,000 orders for these robots were placed between November 2020 and January 2024, most of which were not fulfilled.

Customers who prepaid were not given refunds or updates on delays, prompting the lawsuit. The suit seeks restitution for consumers, civil penalties, and costs.

Attorney General Henry stated the goal is to make Pennsylvania consumers whole and hold the company accountable. The lawsuit accuses Digital Dream Labs and its CEO, Harold Jacob Hanchar, of violating Pennsylvania’s Consumer Protection Law by failing to deliver prepaid merchandise promptly, misrepresenting delivery dates, and denying consumers the ability to cancel undelivered orders.
