Smoke shop robber pulled gun after worker locked doors

NEW YORK CITY – The NYPD is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying an individual involved in a robbery that occurred in Lower Manhattan/

On Tuesday, April 11, at approximately 12:30 am, an unknown individual entered a smoke shop located at 204 Spring Street and removed marijuana without paying. The suspect attempted to leave the store but was unable to do so as the 39-year-old male employee had electronically locked the door. The individual then approached the employee, displayed a firearm, and forced the employee to unlock the door before fleeing the scene on foot. The employee was not injured during the incident.

The NYPD has provided a description of the suspect, who is believed to be in his 20s with a light complexion, approximately 5’8” tall, and weighing between 200 and 220 pounds.

He was last seen wearing a black face mask, black jacket, dark pants, and black sneakers. Anyone with information regarding this incident is urged to contact the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline.
