Homestead, PA – Four adults were wounded in a shooting that unfolded across two nearby streets in Homestead early Sunday morning, sending multiple victims to area hospitals and prompting an active investigation by Allegheny County Police.

Emergency dispatchers received reports of gunfire around 1:30 a.m. in the 200 block of West 8th Avenue and the 100 block of 8th Avenue, according to the Allegheny County Police Department.

First responders arriving at the scene found one adult male suffering from gunshot wounds to his hand and foot. He was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

A short time later, three additional victims arrived at a nearby hospital on their own seeking medical care for gunshot injuries.

Police said one victim suffered a gunshot wound to the right foot, while two others were treated for gunshot wounds to their right arms.

All four victims were reported in stable condition.

Detectives Investigating Shooting Scene

The Allegheny County Police Department’s General Investigations Unit responded after Homestead authorities requested assistance with the case.

Investigators have not released details about what led to the shooting, whether the victims were targeted, or if multiple shooters may have been involved.

Police also have not announced any arrests or identified any suspects.

The shooting scene stretched across two nearby blocks of 8th Avenue in the borough, located southeast of Pittsburgh along the Monongahela River.

Violence involving multiple victims often creates complicated investigations as detectives work to determine where the shooting started, how many rounds were fired, and whether witnesses or surveillance footage captured the incident.
