73-Year-Old Newark Man Reported Missing

February 15, 2024

NEWARK, NJ – Police in Newark are calling on the public to assist in helping them locate Eugene Williams, a 73-year-old resident of Newark, who has been reported missing since Wednesday.

Mr. Williams was last observed on February 13, 2024, leaving a residential facility located in the 100 block of Ballantine Parkway. He was seen removing his personal items from his room, packed into two large bags, and then departing in his 2-door dark blue Saturn.

Diagnosed with schizophrenia and depression, Mr. Williams regularly attends an adult daycare center on weekdays located in the 100 block of Mt. Pleasant Avenue. However, he has not been seen or heard from since his disappearance on February 13. Mr. Williams is described as being 5’7” tall, weighing 140 pounds, with gray hair and brown eyes. His last known attire includes a black jacket, a black hooded sweatshirt, and blue jeans. There is a possibility that he may be heading towards Trenton, New Jersey, or Pennsylvania.

The Newark Police Department is urging anyone with information on Mr. Williams’s whereabouts to come forward to assist in ensuring his safe return. His family and the community are deeply concerned for his well-being, especially considering his medical conditions.
