Boston Police Arrest Man for After Pulling Gun in Public

BOSTON, MA — Boston Police have reported the arrest of Andrew Marshall, 43, from Dorchester, following an incident involving a firearm. The arrest occurred at approximately 2:59 PM on Monday, May 20, in the Mattapan neighborhood.

Officers from District B-3, with assistance from Districts B-2 (Roxbury) and C-11 (Dorchester), responded to a call at 217 Columbia Rd about a man displaying a gun.

Marshall matched the suspect description provided to dispatch as a black male in his 40s, allegedly part of a larger group.

Upon investigation, police found a loaded Smith and Wesson .40 caliber semi-automatic handgun on Marshall, which had nine rounds of live ammunition. He was arrested on charges of unlawful possession of a firearm and ammunition.

Marshall is expected to be arraigned at Dorchester District Court. The swift response by multiple police districts underscores the seriousness with which Boston Police are addressing gun-related crimes.
