OCEAN CITY, MD – A seventeen-year-old male was arrested Tuesday night following a weapons violation incident at a motel near 20th Street in Ocean City.

The Ocean City Police were called to the scene at approximately 9:23 PM after receiving a report from a complainant who claimed that a male had pointed a handgun at him in one of the motel rooms.

The complainant also provided a description of the vehicle in which the suspect fled. This information led to the identification and subsequent arrest of the seventeen-year-old for the alleged weapons violation.

Under Maryland law, juveniles accused of specific offenses such as first-degree assault or handgun charges can be charged as adults, provided they meet certain age requirements. The case continues to be under investigation. Further details can be accessed through the Ocean City Police Department’s news release.
