LAKEWOOD & TOMS RIVER, NJ—Traffic on US 9 is experiencing minor delays in both directions. As of 9:02 AM, there is a 5-10 minute delay on US 9 southbound from CR 547/8th St in Lakewood Township to NJ 70 in Toms River Township. Similarly, the northbound direction reports a delay of 5-10 minutes from south of CR 547/8th St to north of NJ 70 in Lakewood Township as of 9:01 AM.

GARDEN STATE PARKWAY, NJ—On the Garden State Parkway, a longer delay affects northbound traffic. As reported at 8:45 AM, there is a three-mile delay from south of Exit 89C – Lakewood/Airport Rd in Lakewood Township to south of Exit 91B-A – CR 549/Chambers Bridge Road in Brick Township.

BAY HEAD, NJ—Further north, NJ 35 is also seeing traffic congestion. As of 8:29 AM, there is a 5-10 minute delay on NJ 35 northbound from north of Johnson St to Bridge Av in Bay Head.

CONSTRUCTION UPDATES—Several construction projects are impacting traffic across the region:

NJ 88 westbound near CR 549 Spur/Herbertsville Rd in Point Pleasant has the right shoulder closed for construction until 1:00 PM today.
US 9 northbound from CR 622 to NJ 70 in Toms River Township has a lane shift in effect until 5:00 AM tomorrow.
On US 9, lane shifts are in place between North of NJ 88 in Lakewood Township to North of CR 571/Indian Head Rd in Toms River Township, effective until 4:00 PM today, impacting both directions of travel.
Construction on NJ 72 in both directions from CR 607/Long Beach Blvd in Ship Bottom to Marsha Dr in Stafford Township is causing lane shifts until 11:59 PM on March 28, 2025.

Motorists are advised to plan for additional travel time or seek alternate routes when traveling through these areas due to ongoing delays and construction.
