Elderly Man Beaten With Metal Scooter in New York

BROOKLYN, NY—The New York City Police Department is seeking the public’s help in identifying a suspect involved in an assault that occurred on Monday in the Bushwick neighborhood, within the jurisdiction of the 83rd Precinct.

The incident, reported to have happened at around 2:18 PM in front of 25 Melrose Street, involved an unidentified male who assaulted a 77-year-old man. The assailant reportedly struck the elderly victim in the face with a metal scooter, resulting in injuries. The victim was subsequently transported to Interfaith Hospital and is listed in stable condition.

After the attack, the suspect fled the scene on foot.
