NEW YORK, NY – Police have identified 35-year-old Dominic Ogrady as a wanted individual in connection to a recent assault at the Whitehall Street – South Ferry subway station. The incident occurred on Sunday, June 23, at around 6:35 PM on the northbound “R” train platform. Ogrady, allegedly wearing an NYPD Detective badge displayed on a chain around his neck, is accused of unlawfully stopping and attempting to detain commuters while posing as a police officer.

During the altercation, Ogrady reportedly confronted a 46-year-old man. When the victim tried to walk away, Ogrady discharged pepper spray to the back of his head. The suspect subsequently fled the scene on a northbound “R” train to an unknown location.

The victim experienced burning and swelling to his face following the assault. He sought treatment at NYC Health+Hospitals/Bellevue, where he was admitted in stable condition and later released.

Authorities are currently seeking information on Ogrady’s whereabouts and urge anyone with information to come forward. The public is advised to exercise caution and report any sightings of the suspect to the police.
