Nypd seeks suspect in series of attempted bank robberies

NEW YORK, NY—The New York City Police Department is requesting the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect involved in a series of bank robbery attempts across the 14th and 17th Precincts. The suspect is believed to be responsible for three incidents in late July and early August, where he handed tellers notes demanding money and claiming possession of a firearm.

Incident Details:

17th Precinct: July 18, 9:00 AM – The suspect attempted a robbery at the TD Bank on 451 Lexington Avenue. Despite handing a demand note to a 25-year-old male teller, the suspect fled empty-handed northbound on Lexington Avenue.

14th Precinct: July 24, 3:40 PM – A similar attempt occurred at the Citi Bank on 1 Park Avenue. The suspect approached a 30-year-old female teller with a note. He again indicated having a firearm but fled northbound on Park Avenue without obtaining any money.

14th Precinct: August 2, 11:05 AM – The suspect successfully robbed the Wells Fargo bank at 1156 Avenue of the Americas. After threatening a 21-year-old female teller with a note claiming he was armed, he escaped with $3,710, heading eastbound on West 45th Street.

In each instance, no injuries were reported. The NYPD has released images of the suspect and is urging anyone with information to come forward to help prevent further incidents and ensure public safety.
