NEWARK, DE — Delaware State Police have apprehended 20-year-old Devin Cunningham of Bear, Delaware, on felony charges of terroristic threatening following a false bomb threat at Christiana Mall.
The incident occurred on August 3 at about 7:45 PM. Troopers rushed to the mall located at 750 Mall Road, Newark, after receiving a bomb threat report. Security personnel reported that Cunningham made explicit threats about bringing a bomb to the mall, destroying the property, and causing harm to those present.
Initial investigations showed Cunningham was earlier denied entry for refusing to remove a black ski mask, leading to a heated exchange with the security team and his subsequent threatening outburst. He left the scene in a grey sedan before authorities could detain him.
After identifying Cunningham through further investigative efforts, troopers secured a warrant for his arrest. He surrendered himself the following day at Troop 2, was charged, arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 11, and released on a $2,000 unsecured bond.
