NEWARK, NJ — A New Jersey Transit bus driver, identified as Mr. Toron Walker, was arrested following a violent confrontation with a passenger on Friday, August 16. The incident, which occurred around 1 p.m. on Court Street near Broad Street, left several commuters on the bus shocked and distressed.

Passenger videos captured the distressing moment when Walker was seen repeatedly punching, choking, and slamming the passenger onto the bus floor. The altercation reportedly began after the passenger spat on Walker, leading to the aggressive response.

Newark Public Safety Director Fritz Fragé confirmed the details of the incident and stated that Walker has been charged with aggravated assault. He was taken into custody shortly after the police responded to the scene.
