WASHINGTON — The Metropolitan Police Department is asking for the public’s help in identifying a suspect involved in an armed carjacking that took place early Sunday morning in Northeast D.C.
At approximately 2:30 a.m. on September 15, 2024, the victim was seated on his moped in the 4400 block of Benning Road, Northeast, when a suspect approached, brandished a handgun, and demanded the victim’s property. The victim complied, and the suspect fled the scene on the stolen moped.
The suspect was caught on a nearby surveillance camera, and police have released photos of the individual. Authorities are urging anyone with information to contact the Metropolitan Police Department.
No arrests have been made in connection with the incident.
