Secaucus, NJ – The Secaucus Police Department began investigating a tip regarding child sexual abuse material in September. The tip involved images and videos uploaded via Snapchat, X, and Telegram by a Harmon Cove Towers resident.
The investigation led to a 15-year-old Secaucus resident found in possession of more than 900 images and videos of child sexual abuse material. Detective Kristen Bronowich’s efforts revealed the teen was trading these materials with others. Some of the content involved preschool, grade school, and teenage children, though it remains unknown if any children depicted were known to the minor.
Authorities executed a search warrant at the teenager’s residence on Monday. Members of the Secaucus Police Detective Division, the New Jersey State Police I.C.A.C. Unit, and the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit participated in seizing an electronic device during the search.
Charges against the juvenile include two counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child and two counts of Invasion of Privacy, relating to a separate incident. In this incident, the teen allegedly took and disseminated a photo of a female acquaintance without her consent.
