Multiple Crashes Slow Traffic on Garden State Parkway

Newark, NJ—Multiple traffic incidents and delays are affecting major roadways in New Jersey this morning, impacting drivers across several counties.

A crash on the Garden State Parkway’s northbound local lanes at Exit 123 in Sayreville has blocked two center lanes. Additionally, another crash occurred on the parkway’s southbound local lanes near Exit 116 in Holmdel Township, where two right lanes are closed. Both incidents are causing significant slowdowns.

In Woodbridge Township, a disabled vehicle has blocked one center lane on the parkway’s northbound lanes south of Exit 127, while a previous crash at Exit 129 has the right shoulder blocked.

The New Jersey Turnpike is experiencing delays on its outer roadway northbound, with a four-mile backup between Interchange 13A in Elizabeth and Interchange 14 in Newark due to heavy traffic. The Western Spur is also backed up with a 2.5-mile delay near Interchange 15W in Kearny.

At Hudson River crossings, delays at the Lincoln Tunnel’s center and south tunnels are causing 45-minute travel times from the New Jersey Turnpike Exit 16E. The George Washington Bridge is also experiencing long delays, with a 40-minute wait on the lower level and a 60-minute wait on the upper level for eastbound traffic from I-80 to the Alexander Hamilton Bridge.

Drivers are urged to stay alert and seek alternate routes where possible.
