BROOKLYN, N.Y. — The New York City Police Department is requesting the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect wanted in connection with a hate crime incident involving vandalism at St. Therese of Lisieux Church in East Flatbush. The incident occurred in the early hours of Tuesday, October 22, at around 4:30 a.m., within the confines of the 67th Precinct.

According to police, an unidentified individual broke a religious statue outside the church, located at 4402 Avenue D, before fleeing the scene on foot. No injuries were reported.

The NYPD is urging anyone with information about the individual or the incident to come forward as investigators work to locate the suspect. The investigation remains ongoing.
