BALTIMORE, Md. — Three juveniles were arrested on Tuesday following an armed carjacking and a police pursuit that ended in a crash, according to the Baltimore Police Department.
The incident began around 5:07 p.m. when Southeast District officers responded to a reported armed carjacking in the 5900 block of Holabird Avenue. Upon arrival, officers spoke with a 39-year-old woman who stated that, while she was loading her vehicle, a masked suspect approached her and implied he had a gun while announcing a robbery. The suspect then stole her vehicle and fled.
Police dispatched a detailed description of the stolen vehicle to Foxtrot, the department’s aviation unit, which quickly located the car and tracked it from the air. The suspects were seen heading north on I-95, driving erratically near exit 61, where they eventually crashed the vehicle.
After the crash, three suspects attempted to flee on foot but were apprehended by ground officers. Police identified the suspects as a 15-year-old male, a 14-year-old male, and a 13-year-old male, all of whom were taken to a local hospital for treatment and then transported to the Juvenile Justice Center for processing.
Authorities confirmed that all three juveniles have prior arrests involving stolen vehicles. The investigation is ongoing, and further details about possible charges have not yet been released.
