The incident occurred at approximately 6:46 a.m. near McWhorter and Hamilton Streets. Police say one of the suspects, wearing tan pants, exited a stolen red 2017 Hyundai Sonata, approached a male victim, and robbed him at gunpoint.

The stolen vehicle, which has since been recovered by police, is also believed to have been used in another robbery near New Jersey Railroad Avenue and Green Street around the same time.

Anyone with information about the suspects’ identities is urged to contact the Newark Police Division’s 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477). Calls are confidential, and tips may be eligible for a reward.

The investigation is ongoing as police work to identify and apprehend the suspects.
