JERSEY CITY, N.J. — A Harrison man was found guilty Friday on multiple charges for his role in a 2022 armed robbery in Weehawken, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez announced.

Mouhamed Ba, 31, was convicted on all counts, including first-degree robbery, first-degree kidnapping, third-degree aggravated assault, fourth-degree aggravated assault (pointing a weapon), and second-degree possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose. The verdict was delivered on Nov. 22, 2024, after a week-long trial before Judge Mitchell Pascual in Hudson County Superior Court.

The charges stem from a Jan. 29, 2022, incident in which Ba arranged to meet a victim through an online selling platform under the guise of purchasing an electronic device. Instead, Ba robbed and assaulted the victim at gunpoint at the agreed-upon location in Weehawken.

Ba faces a potential sentence of 10 to 40 years in New Jersey State Prison. Sentencing is scheduled for Jan. 10, 2025.

The case was prosecuted by Hudson County Assistant Prosecutors Kevin Sipe and Kristen Kinneary, and officials say the conviction reflects the county’s ongoing efforts to bring violent offenders to justice.

Justice was delivered for a 2022 armed robbery as a jury convicts the perpetrator on all charges.
