TOMS RIVER, N.J. – Teofelo Reyes Lima of Ocean County was arrested on January 7, 2025, and is being held without bail on charges of criminal sexual contact and endangering the welfare of a child.

Police allege that Reyes Lima engaged in inappropriate sexual contact and put a child in danger. He is also accused of attempting to commit another crime related to these charges.

In addition to these charges, Reyes Lima previously faced accusations of giving false information to law enforcement, though that charge has been dismissed.

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has placed a detainer on Reyes Lima, meaning he could face deportation after his criminal case is resolved.

Reyes Lima remains in custody at the Ocean County Jail as the investigation continues.

The case highlights the serious legal consequences for crimes involving child safety.
