Former Lacey Township track star jailed on multiple murder and attempted murder charges

OCEAN COUNTY, N.J. — A former Lacey Township High School track star has been incarcerated in Ocean County on multiple counts of murder and attempted murder, according to inmate records.

Javir Kymire Askew-Mayweather was booked on February 4, 2025, and is being held without bail. Court records indicate he is facing three counts of first-degree murder under New Jersey statute 2C:11-3A(1) and multiple charges of criminal attempt under statute 2C:5-1A(1).

Police have not disclosed the nature of charges against Mayweather at this time.
