BROOKLYN, N.Y. — A 3-year-old boy was pronounced dead Sunday after being brought unconscious and unresponsive to Downstate Medical Center by two unidentified individuals who fled the scene, police said.
Officers responded to a 911 call around 11:30 a.m. and were informed by hospital staff that the child had visible bruising on his body. The boy was later pronounced dead at the hospital.
The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will determine the cause of death as the investigation remains ongoing. Authorities have not yet released the child’s identity.
