LEWES, DE, April 17 — Delaware State Police are investigating a shooting incident in Lewes that left a home and a vehicle riddled with bullet holes but caused no injuries, officials said Wednesday.
Troopers were dispatched to the 30000 block of Pinetown Road around 11:13 a.m. Tuesday after a shooting was reported more than 12 hours after it occurred. According to investigators, the incident took place on Monday evening, April 15, between 8 p.m. and 10 p.m.
An unidentified suspect reportedly fired an unknown number of rounds, striking both a residence and a vehicle parked nearby. No one was hurt during the incident, police confirmed.
“The Delaware State Police are investigating a shooting that occurred Tuesday night in Lewes,” officials said in a public statement released online.
Troopers from Delaware State Police Troop 4’s Criminal Investigations Unit are leading the probe. Detectives are working to determine a motive and identify the suspect involved in the gunfire.
Public assistance sought
Authorities are asking anyone with information to come forward as they continue to examine evidence and canvass the area for potential witnesses. Police have not released any suspect description and no arrests have been made.
The investigation remains ongoing, and detectives are pursuing leads from local residents and surveillance footage.
