Washington, D.C. — A 19-year-old man has been arrested in connection with two violent robbery cases that occurred last year in Southeast D.C., according to police.

Darrell Walton of Southeast D.C. was arrested on April 29, 2025, pursuant to a DC Superior Court arrest warrant. He is charged with two counts of robbery tied to separate incidents in August and November of 2024.

The first robbery happened around 2:12 a.m. on August 31, 2024, in the 100 block of M Street SE. Three suspects assaulted two victims and stole their belongings. One victim was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, while the other declined medical treatment. The suspects fled the scene and were captured on surveillance footage.

Surveillance footage aided in ongoing investigations

In the second robbery, on November 16, 2024, at approximately 8:28 p.m., multiple suspects attacked a victim in the 500 block of 14th Street SE. The group physically assaulted the victim and used a stun gun before taking the person’s wallet and fleeing. Surveillance cameras again captured images of the suspects.

Walton’s arrest is the first in these cases. Police say the investigations are ongoing, and the other individuals involved have yet to be apprehended.

Images of the remaining suspects have been released. Anyone with information is urged to call (202) 727-9099 or text 50411. A reward of up to 1,000 dollars is being offered for information that leads to additional arrests and convictions in these robbery cases.
