OCEAN CITY, Md. — The Ocean City Police Department confirmed Tuesday that there is no credible threat linked to this weekend’s Boardwalk Rock concert, following a series of unverified social media posts suggesting otherwise.

Authorities said they conducted a full review and found no evidence supporting the claim of a threat to public safety. “No individual has been charged or detained in connection with any threat resembling the claims in that post,” the department stated.

The police acknowledged public concern but cautioned against sharing unconfirmed information online. Officials warned that spreading such claims can generate unnecessary fear among residents and visitors.

“While we appreciate public vigilance, it is important to rely on verified information from law enforcement sources,” the department posted on Facebook.
