Woman who had man shot at Wendy’s arrested

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Louisville Metro Police Department detectives arrested two individuals in separate non-fatal shooting incidents, one of which occurred outside a Wendy’s restaurant in January and another inside the Brown Hotel parking garage earlier this month.

On Monday, detectives with the Non-Fatal Shooting Unit arrested 23-year-old Carrington Bagwell of Louisville on an active warrant. She has been charged with one count of second-degree assault in connection to a shooting that took place on January 4 in the parking lot of the Wendy’s at 3422 Taylor Boulevard.

Bagwell had the man shot after he complained about her dog.

In the January incident, officers from LMPD’s 4th Division responded to reports of a shooting shortly after 11 a.m. They found a man in his mid-20s with gunshot wounds to the arm and buttocks. Investigators determined that a verbal altercation between the victim and another male escalated to gunfire. The suspect fled before officers arrived. The victim was transported to the University of Louisville Hospital and survived his injuries.

Bagwell is currently being held at Louisville Metro Corrections as she awaits judicial proceedings.

Second suspect arrested in Brown Hotel garage shooting

In a separate case, police last week arrested 41-year-old Gary Ross of Louisville. He is charged with one count of first-degree assault for a shooting that occurred on May 5 in the Brown Hotel parking garage located in the 600 block of South 3rd Street.

According to police, officers with the LMPD 1st Division responded to the scene at approximately 2:17 a.m., where they found a man with a gunshot wound to the leg. The victim was taken to University Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Detectives continue to seek witnesses and video evidence related to the case.

“Our Non-Fatal Shooting Unit Detectives have been working diligently to make arrests and help combat the violent crime in our community,” LMPD stated in a public update. “We need the public’s help to bring these individuals who commit these crimes and bring closure to their victims.”
