BAYONNE, N.J. — The City of Bayonne marked Juneteenth with a flag-raising ceremony at City Hall, where the American flag was temporarily lowered to honor the occasion, officials said.
The Bayonne Police Department shared photos from the event on social media, showing the Juneteenth flag being raised as part of the city’s recognition of the federal holiday commemorating the end of slavery in the United States.
Local officials and community members were present for the ceremony.
