Neptune ShopRite bags another jackpot as player scoops nearly half-million

Jersey Cash 5 jackpot strikes again at lucky Neptune ShopRite store

by Local News Report

Trenton, NJ — A New Jersey Lottery player hit big again Tuesday, scoring a $446,593 Jersey Cash 5 jackpot from the same Neptune ShopRite location famous for selling last year’s $1.13 billion Mega Millions ticket.

Despite heavy storms and severe weather battering the Garden State this week, the unnamed winner purchased the ticket at the supermarket at 2202 NJ-66 in Neptune, matching all five numbers: 03, 14, 23, 28 and 30. The XTRA number was 02, and the Bullseye was 14.

The Neptune ShopRite gained national attention previously after selling the winning $1.13 billion Mega Millions ticket on March 26, 2024. Owned by the Saker family, the store is now celebrating another lottery winner.

The Tuesday jackpot is the 34th Jersey Cash 5 jackpot won so far this year. The retailer will receive a $2,000 bonus from the Lottery for selling the winning ticket.

The winner, who visits the store weekly, said the jackpot win was not entirely unexpected, noting their belief that a big prize was on the horizon.

The Neptune location isn’t the only retailer in the state with multiple jackpot wins. Lottery officials highlighted similar streaks at several other stores across New Jersey.

Other stores with multiple recent jackpot wins include Luigi Market in South Toms River, White Oak Liquors in Belleville and the 7-Eleven in Montvale, among others, with individual prizes ranging from hundreds of thousands to multi-millions of dollars.

Lottery officials said it’s rare, though not unheard of, for a single retailer to sell multiple jackpot-winning tickets.
