BROOKLYN, N.Y. — Four members of the Brooklyn-based “Euro 380” gang have been indicted on federal racketeering charges tied to a series of violent crimes, including a broad-daylight shooting that left one man dead and two injured, according to an 11-count superseding indictment unsealed Thursday.
Kashawn Mason, also known as “Jojo Euro,” Daniel Horton, Ryan Nieves, and Dylan Stanley face charges including racketeering conspiracy, firearm-related murder, armed robberies, assaults in aid of racketeering, and narcotics distribution. Mason and Stanley also face fentanyl trafficking charges.
Mason and Stanley were taken into custody Thursday and arraigned before U.S. Magistrate Judge James R. Cho. Horton and Nieves remain in federal custody and will be arraigned at a later date.
According to court filings, Euro 380 is a violent street crew operating out of the NYCHA Marcy Houses in Bedford-Stuyvesant and affiliated with the larger Untouchable Gorilla Stone Nation gang. The group is engaged in a longstanding rivalry with the Bloodhound Brims’ “900” subset, which is based in the nearby Tompkins and Sumner Houses.
Prosecutors allege that on September 30, 2023, Nieves and Stanley, along with two juveniles, carried out a retaliatory shooting at the Sumner Houses following the murder of a Euro 380 member three days earlier. Armed with firearms, the group fired 34 rounds at individuals believed to be rival gang members. Kyle Forde was killed in the attack, and two others were wounded. The shooting was allegedly directed by Mason and another gang leader.
In addition to the murder, the indictment includes charges stemming from a series of armed robberies in September and November 2023. The defendants are accused of robbing a smoke shop, a bodega, and multiple individuals at gunpoint in Brooklyn.
Federal officials say the charges are the result of a joint investigation under the FBI’s “Summer Heat” initiative targeting violent crime during the summer months.
“This was brazen, targeted violence that put entire communities at risk,” said Brooklyn District Attorney Eric Gonzalez. “Brooklyn saw record-low gun violence last year, and we are committed to holding accountable anyone who imperils our progress.”
The case is being prosecuted by the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of New York, with support from the FBI, NYPD, Brooklyn District Attorney’s Office, and the Nassau County District Attorney’s Office.
The defendants face multiple life sentences if convicted.
