Two New Jersey lottery retailers strike gold twice in one week

TRENTON, NJ – Two ShopRite locations in Middlesex and Bergen counties each sold not one, but two winning lottery tickets worth at least $10,000 in a single week, an uncommon streak of luck for New Jersey Lottery retailers.

The rare double-winner week unfolded starting Monday, August 11, when the ShopRite of Glenwood Green in Old Bridge reported a $50,000 winner from the $5 Bingo Times 10 Scratch-Off. Just days later, on Sunday, the same store confirmed a second win — a $10,000 prize from the $10 $1 Million Spectacular ticket. Both games still have remaining top prizes, including a $1 million jackpot.

Meanwhile, the ShopRite in New Milford, Bergen County, saw a similar surge in lucky sales. On Tuesday, August 12, it sold a $10,000 winning Mega Hot 7 ticket. The following day, it topped that by selling one of the top $200,000 prizes from the newly released Cash 4-Ever Scratch-Off game.

The New Jersey Lottery partners with more than 6,500 retailers statewide, but instances where a single location sells multiple big-prize tickets within a few days remain rare. Only a handful of stores in the state see this kind of repeated success. One of the most notable is the Neptune ShopRite, which sold the historic $1 billion Mega Millions jackpot ticket in 2024 and again struck luck earlier this summer with a $446,593 Jersey Cash 5 winner.

The winning streaks at the Old Bridge and New Milford locations have drawn attention, especially given the high-value prizes and short time frame. Players are still actively purchasing from these popular games, many of which have top prizes still available.
