Toledo man claims $1M Cashword prize from Ohio Lottery scratch-off

TOLEDO, OH – A Toledo resident named Robert has won the $1,000,000 top prize on the Ohio Lottery’s $1,000,000 Cashword scratch-off ticket, lottery officials announced Tuesday.

Robert chose the cash option, securing a one-time payout of $500,000. After state and federal taxes, his total winnings come to $360,000.

He purchased the winning ticket at S&G #35, located at 4810 Suder Avenue in Toledo. The retailer will receive a bonus for selling the prize-winning ticket.

The $1,000,000 Cashword scratch-off is a $20 game offering a top prize of $40,000 annually for 25 years. As of August 19, two top prizes remain in play.

Since 1974, the Ohio Lottery has contributed more than $33 billion to education statewide.
