Baltimore, MD – A 21-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with an early morning armed carjacking that occurred last week in the city’s Southwest District, Baltimore Police announced Friday.

Officers responded around 4:26 a.m. on August 12 to the 4400 block of Prudence Avenue, where a victim reported being assaulted and carjacked by an unknown assailant. After an investigation, detectives identified the suspect and located him on August 21 in the 1800 block of Ramsay Street.

The suspect was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Central Booking Intake Facility, where he was charged with carjacking, assault, and related offenses. Police confirmed that the individual had a prior arrest for an armed carjacking in 2023.

No further details, including the suspect’s name or the condition of the victim, have been released. The case remains under investigation.
