MILLSBORO, DE — A man is in custody after Delaware State Police executed a search warrant at a Millsboro residence Friday and uncovered crack cocaine, drug paraphernalia, and ammunition, according to a police report released Saturday.
Authorities say 38-year-old Djuan Sheppard of Millsboro was arrested following a coordinated operation involving the Sussex County Drug Unit, the Sussex County Governor’s Task Force, and the Delaware State Police Special Operations Response Team.
The warrant was executed on the 27000 block of Mount Joy Road, where investigators had been looking into Sheppard’s alleged involvement in narcotics distribution. Four adults were detained inside the home during the search, including Sheppard.
Detectives recovered approximately 44.81 grams of crack cocaine, 0.28 grams of cocaine, digital scales commonly associated with drug packaging, and 9mm ammunition. As a convicted felon, Sheppard is legally prohibited from possessing ammunition.
He was transported to Troop 4 where he was charged with multiple felony offenses, arraigned at Justice of the Peace Court 2, and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on a $45,100 secured bond.
The other individuals in the residence were not immediately charged, and the investigation remains ongoing.
