Man arrested in Baltimore shooting that left 26-year-old wounded on Edmondson Avenue
BALTIMORE, MD – A 38-year-old man has been arrested and charged with attempted first-degree murder in connection with a shooting that left a 26-year-old man injured earlier this month in Baltimore’s Western District.
James Barrett of Baltimore was taken into custody by Warrant Apprehension detectives on Friday in the 3100 block of Stafford Street. He was later transported to the Central Booking Intake Facility and officially charged in the August 8 shooting.
The investigation began after Western District officers responded to an area hospital around 10:12 p.m. on August 8, where a 26-year-old male had arrived seeking treatment for a gunshot wound. Medical personnel described the injury as non-life-threatening.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the shooting took place in the 1800 block of Edmondson Avenue. No additional details on a motive or the circumstances leading up to the gunfire have been released.
Barrett remains in custody as the investigation continues.
