Chicago, IL – A 42-year-old man has been charged with attempted murder after police say he stabbed and seriously injured two men and wounded a third during an early-morning attack on the city’s West Side.
The suspect, Douglas Nunez, of the 2900 block of West Wilcox, was arrested around 3:27 a.m. on September 7 in the 2900 block of West Jackson Boulevard. Officers identified him as the attacker responsible for a stabbing less than 30 minutes earlier in the 2900 block of West Wilcox, within the 11th District, police said.
The incident left a 19-year-old man and a 43-year-old man with serious injuries. A 29-year-old man also suffered non-life-threatening wounds. Authorities said responding officers quickly located Nunez and took him into custody without further incident.
Nunez has been charged with two felony counts of attempted first-degree murder, one felony count of possession of a controlled substance, and one misdemeanor count of battery causing bodily harm.
He is scheduled for a detention hearing on September 9 at 2600 S. California.
