NYPD hunts suspect in Bronx hotel rape and robbery

Bronx, NY – Detectives are asking for the public’s help in identifying a man wanted for a brutal rape and robbery inside a Bronx hotel late last month.

Police said the attack happened around 9 a.m. on Friday, August 29, inside a hotel at 1440 East 222nd Street in the 47th Precinct. An unidentified man entered a hotel room with a 25-year-old woman, displayed a knife, and demanded she comply. He allegedly took $400 from her wallet before forcing her to undress and raping her.

The suspect fled on foot, heading southbound on East 222nd Street.

The victim was transported by EMS to NYC Health + Hospitals/Jacobi, where she was listed in stable condition.

The assailant is described as a male with a dark complexion, last seen wearing glasses, a white T-shirt, blue jeans, white sneakers, and carrying a black backpack.
