QUEENS, NY – A 67-year-old man was injured after being assaulted inside a building on 101st Avenue when an unidentified woman attacked him with a paper towel roll and slapped him before fleeing the scene, police said.

Victim hospitalized

The incident occurred around 10:22 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 16, when the woman approached the man inside 119-17 101 Avenue and threw a paper towel roll, striking him in the face. The impact caused a scratch and broke his glasses, according to investigators. Police said the suspect then slapped the victim before running out of the location. Emergency responders took the man to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center, where he was listed in stable condition.

Suspect description

Authorities said the suspect was last seen running northbound on 120th Street before entering a building at 120-08 97 Avenue. She is described as a female with a light complexion and long braids, wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, plain pants, and black sandals.

Police investigation

Detectives are continuing their investigation into the assault. No arrests have been made, and police have not yet released surveillance footage from the area.
