Trenton, NJ – RevolutionNJ has unveiled a new traveling exhibition titled Revolutionary Lives: Living the American Experiment Then and Now, bringing the stories of everyday New Jerseyans from the Revolutionary era into communities across the state.

The free exhibit highlights the lives and choices of ordinary people whose contributions shaped both the fight for independence and the ongoing pursuit of civic engagement in modern New Jersey. It will be available to host at libraries, schools, city halls, historic sites, and other public spaces statewide.

Revolutionary Lives is one of the many ways RevolutionNJ supports communities as local leaders develop their own plans for America’s 250th,” said Lieutenant Governor Tahesha Way, who also serves as Secretary of State. “It offers residents a tangible connection to the values and experiences that defined the Revolution and illustrates how those ideals persist in our communities.”

The exhibit is presented in two adaptable formats: six double-sided stretch-fabric banners for open spaces, or twelve single-sided banners designed for hallways and corridors. Each installation includes an interactive panel that encourages visitors to reflect on their own role in shaping the nation’s future.

Sara Cureton, executive director of the New Jersey Historical Commission, noted that the exhibition explores how Revolutionary ideals of liberty, equality, and justice influenced life 250 years ago while continuing to inspire New Jerseyans today. Educational materials will also be provided to schools and community groups.

Carrie Fellows, executive director of Crossroads of the American Revolution, added that the project helps residents connect with the stories of ordinary people who, through everyday decisions, became part of history.

Reservations for the two-week traveling installation can be submitted online at bit.ly/RevExhibit, with extensions available depending on demand.
