Gunfire from speeding infiniti kills one in greenbelt drive-by shooting

Greenbelt, MD – A deadly drive-by shooting is under investigation after a silver Infiniti with dark-tinted windows and no front license plate opened fire on a group of people before speeding away, according to the Greenbelt Police Department.

Witnesses told investigators the vehicle entered the area at a high rate of speed late Sunday, firing multiple rounds that struck one victim.

The driver then fled in an unknown direction, leaving behind a chaotic scene as officers and medics rushed to respond.

Detectives have not released the identity of the victim pending notification of family members. Investigators are working to determine a motive and whether the shooting was targeted or random. Police have not confirmed how many people were present when the shots were fired or how many rounds were discharged.
