HATFIELD TWP., PA — A quick grocery run turned into a life-changing moment for one lucky shopper in Montgomery County, where a Pennsylvania Lottery Scratch-Off ticket worth $1 million was sold at a GIANT Food Store on Cowpath Road.

The winning ticket came from the popular “$1 Million Moneybag Crossword” game, a $20 scratch-off that offers multiple top prizes of $1 million. The ticket was sold at the GIANT located at 1540 Cowpath Road in Hatfield Township, which will receive a $5,000 bonus for selling the million-dollar winner.

The identity of the winner has not yet been disclosed, and the Pennsylvania Lottery will only confirm details once the prize is officially claimed. Scratch-off prizes in Pennsylvania must be claimed within one year of the game’s end-sale date, as listed on the lottery’s official website.

The $1 Million Moneybag Crossword game is one of the state’s higher-priced scratch-offs and has attracted attention for its large prize pool and word puzzle format. All winning tickets are distributed randomly, and neither the Lottery nor its retailers know where they’ll land until a player comes forward.
