Police say Paul Gant was arrested downtown in the killing of Adrian Griffin
BALTIMORE, MD – Nearly three weeks after 47-year-old Adrian Griffin was found shot in the upper body on Garrison Boulevard and later died, Baltimore detectives have arrested a 39-year-old man and charged him with first-degree murder.
Baltimore Police identified the accused as Paul Gant of Baltimore.
Griffin was found on Aug. 20 after officers were dispatched at approximately 7:42 p.m. to the 3400 block of Garrison Boulevard for what police initially described as a lying-in-the-street investigation.
When officers arrived, they discovered Griffin suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to his upper body.
He was transported to an area hospital, where he later died.
Police subsequently identified Gant as a suspect wanted in connection with Griffin’s fatal shooting.
Warrant Apprehension Task Force detectives located and arrested Gant Friday in the 100 block of South Charles Street, according to police.
Gant was transported to the Central Booking Intake Facility and charged with first-degree murder.
Police announced the arrest Sunday. The department did not provide information about a possible motive or disclose what investigators allege happened before Griffin was shot.
The charge against Gant is an allegation and has not been proven in court.
