Teen mother and infant son vanish after leaving Brooklyn home

BROOKLYN, NY – Police are searching for a 17-year-old mother and her two-month-old baby who vanished Monday night after leaving their Dean Street residence.

Kristina Ortiz and her infant son, Colin Ortiz, were last seen departing their home at 1162 Dean Street around 11:25 p.m. within the 77th Precinct area.

Family members reported the pair missing after they failed to return or make contact.

Detectives have been canvassing the neighborhood and reviewing surveillance footage from nearby buildings in hopes of tracing their path.

Authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward as the search intensifies.

Description of missing pair

Kristina Ortiz is described as a Hispanic female, 17 years old, approximately 5 feet 1 inch tall, 130 pounds, with a medium build. She was last seen wearing a black jacket and gray pants.

Her son, Colin Ortiz, a two-month-old Hispanic male, was last seen dressed in a beige onesie.

Community appeal for assistance

The NYPD is seeking the public’s help in locating both mother and child. Officers from the 77th Precinct are coordinating with city and state agencies to widen the search.
