Man fatally shot during suspected burglary in Southeast Baltimore

BALTIMORE, MD – A 39-year-old man died early Thursday morning after he was shot during what investigators believe may have been a commercial burglary in Southeast Baltimore, police said.

At approximately 2:15 a.m., patrol officers responded to a call for a shooting in the 2200 block of Fleet Street. Upon arrival, they located the victim unresponsive and suffering from gunshot wounds. He was transported to a nearby hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

Detectives with the Baltimore Police Department’s Homicide Unit are investigating the incident. Early findings suggest the shooting may have occurred in connection with a burglary at a nearby business, though no additional details have been released.

The victim’s identity has not been made public pending notification of next of kin.
