Police investigating shooting in North Philadelphia; one man hospitalized

PHILADELPHIA, PA – Police are investigating a shooting that left one man hospitalized Sunday morning in North Philadelphia.

The incident occurred around 9:28 a.m. near the 2600 block of North 16th Street, where officers from the 22nd District responded to reports of gunfire on the roadway.

Upon arrival, police found an adult male suffering from a gunshot wound.

Victim transported to Temple University Hospital

Police said Medic 31 transported the victim to Temple University Hospital, where his condition was not immediately available. Authorities have not released the victim’s identity pending family notification.

Detectives with the Philadelphia Police Shooting Investigation Group are handling the case. Officers remained at the scene late Sunday morning, canvassing the area and collecting shell casings as part of the ongoing investigation.

No arrests have been made, and a motive has not yet been determined.
