Man shot in the thigh after overnight gunfire sets off ShotSpotter in East Baltimore
Baltimore, MD – A 40-year-old man was rushed to the hospital early Monday after a burst of gunfire triggered a ShotSpotter alert in East Baltimore, prompting a fast police response to a residential block just before dawn.
Around 3:35 a.m., officers were dispatched to the 1800 block of Ensor Street following the activation of the city’s gunshot detection system. When they arrived on scene, they found the victim suffering from a gunshot wound to the thigh. Medics transported him to a nearby hospital where he was listed in stable condition.
Investigators from the Eastern District Shooting unit responded and took over the case. The motive behind the shooting has not been determined, and no arrests have been made.
