Bronx, NY – A subway ride turned violent Tuesday afternoon when a man was struck in the neck with a glass bottle during a dispute aboard a northbound “2” train, police said.
The incident happened around 2:15 p.m. as the train approached the 149th Street–Grand Concourse station.
Authorities said the suspect fled the area on foot after the attack.

Victim treated for injuries
Police said the victim suffered swelling and bruising to the back of his neck. EMS transported him to NYC Health + Hospitals/Lincoln in stable condition.
Investigators said the confrontation began as a verbal argument before escalating into a physical altercation. The suspect grabbed a glass bottle and struck the victim from behind before running off.
Police seek suspect
The attacker is described as a male with a dark complexion, last seen wearing a black jacket, black sweatshirt, black pants, and black sneakers.
