Alina Habba vows zero tolerance on New Jersey Election Fraud and Voter Interference

NEWARK, N.J. – U.S. Attorney Alina Habba announced that her office, in coordination with the FBI, will actively investigate and prosecute any criminal activity related to the upcoming general election, pledging a zero-tolerance approach to voter intimidation, fraud, or interference.

Habba said the U.S. Attorney’s Office will respond to all complaints involving violations of federal election laws, including efforts to intimidate or bribe voters, buy or sell votes, impersonate voters, alter ballots or tallies, tamper with ballot boxes, or mark ballots for voters without consent.

Federal investigators will be on call throughout Election Day to respond to complaints or reports of irregularities from voters, election workers, and local officials.

Equal enforcement regardless of party

Habba stressed that enforcement of election laws will apply equally, “regardless of who commits those crimes and regardless of party or affiliation.” Voters are encouraged to report suspected violations directly to federal authorities or local law enforcement.

The announcement comes as officials across the state tighten security measures to maintain confidence in the integrity of the electoral process.
