Jackson Township to Honor Veterans at Memorial Garden on Veterans Day

The Township of Jackson proudly joins communities across the nation in honoring the brave men and women who have served in the United States Armed Forces. Veterans Day is a time for reflection, gratitude, and unity, as residents pause to recognize the sacrifices made by those who have defended our freedoms and values. Jackson stands together in appreciation of all veterans—past and present—who have dedicated their lives to the service of this great nation.

Mayor Jennifer L. Kuhn, whose older brother served as a U.S. Marine during the Global War on Terrorism, said Veterans Day will always hold a special place in her heart because of the sacrifices her brother and other veterans across America have made for all us.

The Jackson Township Council also extends heartfelt thanks to every veteran, including those who are no longer with us.

Their courage and commitment have shaped the course of our nation’s history and continue to inspire future generations. The Township recognizes the profound impact of their service and the enduring legacy they leave behind.

The Mayor and Council extended a special thanks to Councilman Ken Bressi, a proud U.S. Marine Corps Vietnam combat veteran.

“Councilman Bressi’s dedication to both his country and his community exemplifies the true spirit of service,” said Council President Mordechai Burnstein. “His continued commitment to Jackson Township is a testament to his leadership, strength, and devotion—values forged through his time in uniform and carried forward through his life in public service.”

Residents are encouraged to take a moment today to thank a veteran, share their stories, and reflect on the freedoms secured through their sacrifice. The Township reminds all that Veterans Day is not just a date on the calendar, but a reminder of the duty, courage, and unity that define the American spirit.

At 11 a.m., Ken Bressi and Charlie Garofano, the founders of the Jackson Veterans Memorial Garden will join the Westlake community, residents, and Jackson veterans at the Veterans Memorial Garden for a ceremony at the memorial.

The Township invites all residents to attend as Jackson gathers in respect and remembrance of those who have served and those who continue to serve with honor.
