$100K Mega Millions ticket sold in Sandy Lake as $983M jackpot hits in Georgia

SANDY LAKE, PA – A Mega Millions ticket worth $100,000 was sold in Mercer County for Friday’s drawing, just before the game’s nearly billion-dollar jackpot was finally claimed in Georgia.

The winning Pennsylvania ticket matched four of the five white balls — 1, 8, 11, 12, 57 — plus the yellow Mega Ball 7. It was purchased at Kristyak’s Korner, located at 3294 North Main Street in Sandy Lake Borough. The store will receive a $500 bonus for selling the prize-winning ticket.

This win in Pennsylvania came during the 40th drawing of a historic Mega Millions run that began on June 27 and ended Friday with a single $983 million jackpot-winning ticket sold in Georgia. That prize, the eighth-largest in Mega Millions history, carried a lump-sum cash option of $453.6 million.

Although the top prize was claimed out-of-state, Pennsylvania saw a boost in Lottery sales, with more than $65.7 million generated statewide during the latest jackpot cycle. That includes over $26.3 million in profit earmarked to support senior programs across the Commonwealth.

More than 51,400 additional Mega Millions tickets purchased in Pennsylvania for the November 14 drawing also won prizes ranging from a few dollars to thousands. All winners are encouraged to sign the back of their ticket and file claims promptly. Mega Millions prizes must be claimed within one year of the drawing date.

The jackpot has now reset to an estimated $50 million annuity, or $23.2 million in cash, for the next drawing scheduled Tuesday.
