NEWARK, N.J. – A thief snatched a package from the front steps of a Newark residence Tuesday afternoon, prompting city officials to ask for the public’s assistance in tracking down the suspect.

The crime occurred around 1:32 p.m. on the 50 block of Hazelwood Avenue, where surveillance footage captured the man taking a delivery box and walking north toward Fortuna Street.

Police say the suspect remains at large as investigators review video evidence and tips from the community.

Officials emphasize that all tips remain confidential and may be eligible for a cash reward.
